a new home for the holidays?
|
I am often forced to learn certain lessons the hard way. I hate to admit that perhaps Mr. Man and I moved in a little prematurely when we made the decision to move in together. But if I admit that then I would have to listen to a lot of you silently scream to me I knew it wouldnt work (as Tiff said not so silently). Yea, I heard your silent screams of warning back in June when I decided to make the move into the Mans house. But I ignored you because I *knew what was best for me. *{translation: I was going to do whatever the hell I wanted to do regardless of what you had to say}. I dont regret living with Mr. Man. its been fun for the most part although we learned quickly that we have our differences. I do however regret getting rid of many of my belongings to move in with him. Now that I am looking for a new place to live, I also have the daunting task of refurnishing an apartment on a very limited budget. I originally planned to start looking for an apartment in January. I wanted to have a nice Christmas and splurge a little but I found the cutest little one bedroom cottage/duplex that screams Pearl. It is perfect (except for the unusually tiny bathroom) and conveniently located two blocks from work (as in two WALKING blocks) and it is $150 less than what I was paying at my last apartment. Of course the only hiccup is that it is ready to move in now so I had to act fast. I am patiently waiting to hear back from the landlord to see if I am the fortunate one. If am lucky enough to get the place, I will not only be saving on rent but also on gas since no longer will I be commuting 5 days a week in traffic. But I will have to cough up a deposit and first months rent. So much for the holiday splurge. I guess its a good thing I took that crochet class a few weeks ago. Looks like everyone on my holiday list will be getting a Pearl original hand made scarf. |
