One month and counting......
|
It seems as though every other day I start and stop a new entry. I just have not been inspired to keep up with myself lately. Mr. Man and I are finally starting to settle into a nice groove. As hard as it is to admit, our first week together was tough. On more then one occasion I thought I had made a mistake and I was ready to back out. He was too. But we worked through the complications and here we are, a little more then a month later and still together. I am beginning to let go of the little things he does that annoy the shit outta me. For some odd reason he insist on hanging the bath towel over the shower door rather then on the towel rack that is in front of him. He has a bad habit of forgetting to re-top the toothpaste. I conquered that little problem by buying toothpaste with a flip top. He leaves his dirty under wear on the bathroom floor. A nice greeting for me each night when I get home. Instead of fussing, I leave them on the floor and walk all over them. He eventually picks them up off the bathroom floor only to hurl them to his side of the room and out of my sight. I cook. He does the dishes. It works for me. We are learning more and more of our differences. He spends way too much time on the cell phone when we should be spending time together. I have made it very clear that his cell phone etiquette must improve because I refuse to play back up to his phone (or whoever is on the other end of the phone). Although we now live together, we have been in constant movement and often missing each other. I have my massage class three times a week and he has his youth basketball league three times a week. I see him in the morning before I rush out the door for work. I see him again briefly when I get home around 10:00pm exhausted from a full day. We have to make time for each other. I am trying to take a few Fridays off so that its just us. No kids and few work interruptions. Last Friday, we went to the gym in the morning, went to lunch and later that night we went to one of the local Indian casinos for the Seafood buffet and then to a comedy show. The day was great (minus the 10 or so minutes we spent fussing about his phone habits). Tuesday, he and picked me up for lunch. he even managed to leave the cell phone in the car. I have to work this Friday so Saturday we are going to the Raiders/49ers preseason game. FUN, FUN, FUN. I cant wait since it will be my first professional football game. Its so easy for couples to get distracted by life and forget about each other. We are determined to ensure that does not happen us. |
