Woo hooo a weekend update
|
So, I finally warped into this new century that is already 5 years in the making. Normally, I stay current with all the newest and latest gadgets, gismos and other things that cost way too much money but are supposed to make our lives better. I broke down and got high speed cable internet access. Yes, I have been doing the whole dial up thing from home. Hence the reason why you rarely see me update on the weekends. Dont have time to sit around waiting for my computer to dial into my phone line. Now that I dont have a home phone (but really thinking about getting one), I still needed a way to get on the internet. Why, I dont know. It is very rare for me to sit in front of the computer at home. I stare at a computer for 8 hours a day, Monday-Friday. There is so much more shit that I could get myself into once leave the workplace. But, I do need to download my Itunes music, and upload some pictures and thats all stuff that I cant really do from work on my super duper fast computer. For the next 6 months I will spend the extra $20 a month for my fast cable internet. Yes, it is worth the $20. But not much more than that. When the price goes up, I quit. Did I mention that I cracked the screen on my barley two year old laptop (compliments of my December travels)? It sucks. But I will manage until I find out how much it will cost to get fixed or get a new laptop. The weekend was good. I skipped the B-day party on Saturday after I found out who would be in attendance. Too many sanctified folks for me. Not that sanctified folks are bad, its just that often I feel less than human around them because Im not married, I engage in pre marital sex and I once had my eye brow pierced. All things that seem to become topics of conversation when I am around.Certain people in this holy crowd like to point out my problems. Instead of going to the party, I spent the WHOLE DAY shopping (I know, Im bad. This is like the fourth or is it faith time this week?). I put together the perfect outfit for the Sunday party. I met a few potentials. One in particular who had me impressed after he told me what he does. Of course I met some scrubs. But scrubs need love to and I was drunkenly spreading the love. I won a drink after I killed a Dirty South roach (something unseen here in Cali). I have never seen such a roach since I escaped the backwoods of AL. With the liquor flowing through my veins, I came up with enough courage to take off my very lovely black boots, reach above my head to smash the monster size bug. That won me props and a free drink! Of course the night could not possible end with out a little drama. I ran into D at the party. Everything was fine until he decided to come and stand right next to me while I was talking to the new boy. I didnt want to be rude to D, but I sure the hell didnt want him messing up my first encounter with the new boy. D got the hint that I was busy talking and walked away in a huff. I went to apologize to him later but he acted an ass and I retracted my apology. He tried to get loud and embarrass me. That got shut down when another guy came and pulled me onto the dance floor so that I could Drop it like its hot and thats exactly what I did! |
