I will survive

Dammit, I just need a new car. So for the past week, my car has been making this hideous screeching nose when I step on the gas. The nose stops when I step on the brakes. At first it was no biggie. But over the past few days it has gotten progressively worse. My car is starting to sound like one of those hoopties you hear riding through the hood. Its so embarrassing. I was seriously dreading taking it to a mechanic because if you recall, I just put $840 dollars into my car about three weeks ago. I dont have any more money to put into a 7-year-old car with almost 120,000 miles. Thank God for my supervisors brother who was able to come to my office today to look at my car. He is one of those backyard mechanics who luckily is actually a certified mechanic (he is technically certified in Ohio, he just moved to Cali about a month ago). He is only charging me $40 to fix my brakes and for the labor. I am so relieved. But I still want a new car! I used another sick day yesterday. This time is was almost for real. I have been fighting a cold for the last week. But Im trying to be grown like Mia and workout, work two jobs and have a social life. With all that going on, I was missing out on one very important thing, some much needed rest. Tuesday when I got off work (the second job) I ran home changed into my workout clothes and went and did 30 minutes on the elliptical machine. I did not workout that morning and I desperately wanted to get at least 30 minutes in before I went to bed. BIG MISTAKE. I was on an endorphin high for like two hours. Meaning I did not finally fall asleep until like 1:30 am. Then my body just woke itself up at 6:00 am and I tried to go back to sleep but I could not, so instead, I got up and went back to the gym. Again I only worked out for 30 minutes, and I felt like my chest was about to cave in from not getting enough oxygen. I was having the hardest time breathing and was coughing like crazy. When I finished my workout, I went home and took a shower. When I got out the shower, I just laid on the bed. I knew there was no way I was going to make it to work. I felt completely drained. I barely had enough energy to put my pajamas back on. So I called in sick and sleep until about 11:00 am. Once I woke up, I felt like a new person. I think my cold is finally leaving my body and good riddance! The last few weeks I have been peeping this guy out at the second job. He is a cutie and has legs to lust for. He is always wearing basketball shorts and low cut socks and shows off his muscular calves quit nicely. At first I thought it was my imagination when he would walk past me and smile or say hi. But yesterday one of the ladies that I spend my LONG 15-minute break with (yes, thats sarcasm) noticed the looks that he has been giving me. So now I know its not my imagination and maybe he is a little smitten by yours truly. Looks like I may have to call him out tonight. I have to admit that Im not all innocent. I saw him one day sitting in his car before work and I waited until he walked in the building and I went to do a little investigation. I know he loves the LordLOLhe had an I Love Jesus air freshener in his rear view mirror and one of those fish looking symbols on the back of his car. He also works out. I saw tennis shoes and a gym bag in the back seat. I know he likes hats. He wears a hat almost everyday to work and he had about 3 or 4 of them in his truck. I also know that he went to Sac State, he had alumni tags on his car. See I did my homework. Now I just need to find out what his name is and get the other necessary details about him. |
