My life is no longer about me.
|
Weekend after weekend my life seems to be consumed with something other than my me time. Oh how I miss the days of lounging on my couch in my pajamas all day scratchin my ass and eating chips with dip. Instead, I am expected to go to another {dreadful} baby shower and witness all the fake oooos and ahhhhs over 50 gazillion onesies. I think Mia said it best when it comes to baby showers (I would post the link to her beautifully written baby shower description but she has just as many entries as there are oneseies at a baby shower and I got tired of looking.) Option number two is to attend a wedding with Mr. Man in SF. I have decided that this option is no longer an option. I am not in the mood to answer questions from Mr. Mans family or accidentally be mistaken as the ex-girlfriend (it has happened). Most importantly, if one more person tells me that I look like a baby and ask how old I am, followed by the raised eyebrow when they discover the 10-year age difference, I may go into attack mod. Not exactly the type of impression I am trying to leave on the family. Option number three includes 4 tickets to a Monarchs game. Granted the Monarchs are doing extremely well and I am rooting for them to bring home the championship trophy, my idea of Saturday fun does not include sitting amongst a sea of lesbians for two and a half hours. I have already decided to try to sell the Monarchs tickets. They were given to me free of charge so if I can make a few bucks off of them, I can go shopping. Otherwise, no lossright? Like I said, the wedding option is O-U-T! So that narrows the plans down to the {dreaded} baby shower. Or perhaps I blow off everything and chill at home, by myself. It will be the only opportunity all weekend since Sunday I am going out with Rie to see the three elements, better known as Earth, Wind and Fire. Note to self: During me time, hide all forms of hair removal to avoid being hairless from the neck down. |
